Twisted Celluloid Hair or Hat Ornament from the Edwardian EraTwisted Celluloid Hair or Hat Ornament from the Edwardian EraTwisted Celluloid Hair or Hat Ornament from the Edwardian EraTwisted Celluloid Hair or Hat Ornament from the Edwardian Era

This long extruded piece of vanilla celluloid has been twisted into a loose knot to form an unusual chignon or hat ornament. Measuring 6-1/2" long x 2-1/2" at its widest, the whimsical piece would have been worn by a very progressive Edwardian lady, as it would not have been conservative enough to be her grandmother's type of ornament. 3/4" down from the bottom of the knot are two commercially drilled tiny holes (on both stems) to sew onto a hat, if desired. The ornament is a fun piece in excellent condition, able to be worn contemporarily. Thank you for visiting.
