This small sterling silver cream or sauce ladle in the "Mt. Vernon" pattern measures 5-3/8". Lunt Silver Co. introduced the Mt. Vernon sterling pattern during the first part of the 20th century and is impressed on the back of the stem with the "Y" logo which has the "R, L and B" of Rogers, Lunt and Bowlen, the "Sterling" mark, and "Pat. 11-29-05". An old English "S" embellishes a shield-shaped crest surrounded by long narrow cornucopias on either side of its high arched stem. The lovely vintage ladle has very little wear with the patina of old silver. There is a wee pouring spout on the right side of the bowl which sports a reticulated ornamental shape at the back close to the stem. It is in very good condition, and perfect for pouring hot fudge sauce over Grandma's home made ice cream at your traditional Easter gathering. Or, as a wedding gift to a niece, she can start her own holiday traditions. The ladle is a beautifully shaped piece with a wonderful feel as you hold it in your hand. I have not cleaned it, leaving that up to the new owner. Thank you for stopping by.
