Let's call this lovely sterling silver piece a candy dish, because who sits around all day and eats bon bons in the 21st century? In 1936, though, when International Silver Co. introduced the "Courtship" pattern, perhaps there were folks who did just that. This 6-1/4" x 1-1/2" solid sterling bowl has six narrow floral sprays intermittently placed around the rim, and six smaller, more modest sprays a little below the outer rim, making a charming design that doesn't overwhelm the small bowl, placing emphasis on what is put inside. Underside of bowl is marked, "Courtship, International Sterling, 114 48". In fine condition with a pin size dent on inside circular base, shown in the photos, the bowl would make a nice wedding gift for whose like vintage silver. There are no monograms, so one could have it personalized, if desired, or left plain. Thank you for visiting.
