Ten vintage miniature hats embellish the large gold leafed Victorian frame centered with sculpted velvet. Some of the hats look as though a child had made them for her favorite doll, while others look a bit more finished. Beads adorn a white silk tam, and a black Edwardian pillbox graces one corner. An unusual sheer black hat sits beside the velvet maroon in the center. Many are from the late 1800s, the crocheted one is a bit newer, I think. As a hat lover, I was taken with the lilliputian size of these charming chapeaux and the magnificent frame to which they were attached. The montage has been with me for many years. The 22" square by 1-3/4" deep frame itself is in good condition for it's age. A tiny nick at one corner does not detract from its beauty. The old worn textured velvet that once displayed antique buttons now displays turn of the century miniature hats. This is a perfect gift any hat lover! Thank you for looking.
