The little 8" tall hard plastic Eskimo doll was made by the Madame Alexander Doll Co. in 1967-1969, then discontinued. He has brunette hair, bending knees, a brown skin tone, and black sleep eyes, and is dressed in black pants, a fur trimmed red parka with "Eskimo, Madame Alexander" on the tag in his clothing, and red boots. He is marked "Alex" on his back. He is slightly shelf dusty, missing his original spear, and the fur on the bottom of his jacket has turned brown from age, which is very common with this doll. He was so hard to find after the Alexander Co. discontinued making him, and because of his rarity, he sold for $675 in June of 1982. These little 8" dolls are so charming and take up much less room to display than the larger dolls. Madame Alexander put such care and detail into the clothing of her dolls, that they remain some of the most well dressed dolls ever made. Not just little girls collected them, but big girls did, too! What great luck in finding him! Thank you for visiting.
