This is a beautiful vintage C. 1904 chocolate box by J.S. Fry and Sons which was probably a custom order chocolate box as it has hallmarked 9K gold corners.
It must have contained the finest of chocolates in its time.
The top lid and bottom edges are covered in a rich blue velvet, with the sides covered in blue silk.
On the top is a lovely decorative handle and clasp. The interior of the box is white paper with an advertisement for Fry's Manufacturer to the King, who would have been Edward VII.
What a lovely presentation box for candies for a special someone.
This box would make a lovely mignonette doll container.
Condition: Some reddish stains on the inside probably from the candies.
This is covered by a blue insert. Minor velvet and silk aging, but nothing that detracts from the appearance
Size: 14 by 4 by 1 3/4 inches
