This is an interesting sewing box, possibly bought on a visit to a spa in the early 19th century.
It is painted wood with a scene on the front called Le Tonnelet?
This is not absolutely clear.
The picture on the front appears to be hand painted, but it is hard to tell for sure.
Likely this box held spools and sewing utensils at one time .
The interior of the box is in sections and is painted a lovely Vermilion.
Nice historical item.

Condition: Minor age wear, otherwise fine.

Size: 7 by 3 3/4 by 1 3/4 inches.
