This is a lovely enamel box done in the Bilston or Battersea style.
It may also be French as they were producing enamel at about the same time, but in slightly different styles.
This box is a bright cobalt blue with an enamel vignette of two doves beside their nest that has tiny eggs in it.
Definitely a romantic token for the time signifying love and family.
The box is hinged, and has a mirror inside.
A lovely example of a Georgian romantic token.
Condition: Some crazing on the inside white enamel in the bottom.
This is an antique items and there are minor flaws due to age that I try to describe, but the box is about 200 years old.
Size: 1 1/2 by 1 1/4 by 7/8 inches.
