This needlecase in the shape of a parasol or umbrella is very well crafted.
It is made of bone with a body that is completely carved with recessed lines and raised squares.
It has a brown color on the recessed area which creates quite a contrast to the plain raised squares.
The handle is turned and there is a pointed finial at the bottom of the umbrella.
The piece unscrews to provide room for needles.
Very well crafted piece.
Condition: Very good.
There are two flatter areas on each side of the umbrella which appears to be in the making due to the shape of the bone.
Size: 3 1/2 inches long.
