Antique Jasperware Cameo Design Vase 19th CenturyAntique Jasperware Cameo Design Vase 19th CenturyAntique Jasperware Cameo Design Vase 19th Century

This is a very pretty open vase which is shaped a bit like a biscuit barrel.
It never had a top, so I am not sure what it is used for.
This vase is marked with an impressed W and the impressed letters I and L.
It also has a written number impressed which is 850.
I am not sure of the company that made it, but it is of very high quality.
There are 4 Greek style faces one of which has a lion on the bodice.
The detail is very fine, and the Greek key motif between the cameos is beautifully done as is the delicate leaf motif around the cameos.
The color is a lovely medium blue, and the inside is glazed with a shiny white glaze.
The workmanship and design in the older Jasperware pieces is truly lovely.

Condition: Very good. No chips or cracks.

Size: Approximately 5 by 5 inches.
