This is an unusual buckle with an interesting combination of enamel work and cut steel.
It is made of a gilded metal and the edge is beautifully enamelled with roses and leaves with a lovely butterscotch enamel background.
The centre has a pierced crosshatch design in the metal and, at each crossing, there is a riveted cut steel stud.
Very effective use of enamel and cut steel.
The back has two loops for the belt.
This probably could be worn around the neck on a wide ribbon which would be very dashing.
Condition: Very good.
Size: 2 3/8 by 1 1/2 inches.
