This is an cut steel belt buckle with two loops for attaching to a belt.
It could actually be used as a pendant by slipping a chin through the loops.
There are lozenge shapes, crescent moon shapes and faceted round shapes.
The amount of cutting, shaping and thought that went into this buckle could not be reproduced now.
Each piece is attached to the main body by a rivet, not just pressed out.
Cut steel items were used to reflect like diamonds in the lights of balls or parties in Georgian or Victorian times.
Condition: Very good.
Size: 3 5/8 by 1 7/8 inches.
