This sterling silver bolo tie carries the frog mark of Terry Wadsworth, a Hopi silversmith who started making jewelry in the middle 1970's. This striking piece features the image of a fierce bear standing on its hind legs, with an abstract design on each side. It was made using the overlay method, and has the fine chisel marks in the recessed areas that are a characteristic of jewelry made by members of this tribe. This tie is in very good condition, with a smooth finish, a thick black leather cord with modernist sterling tips, and with no damage or problems to any of its parts.
The centerpiece of this bolo measures 2 3/4 inches tall by 2 1/4 inches at its widest point, and the cord is 35 inches long, not including the tips, which are each 2 1/2 inches long. These measurements and its bold design and high quality make it a tie that many bolo lovers would be glad to add to their collection and enjoy for years to come.
