This sterling silver bolo tie is marked Allen in script for Allen Chee, the Navajo silversmith who made it. It is set with three cabochons of matched turquoise and decorated with an eagle in flight and skillfully-designed applique that uses sterling leaves, flowers, balls, and wire at different levels to make a striking and beautiful pattern. It is in very good condition, with no problems or damage with any of its parts, and with a slight patina from age. The black leather cord on the bolo tie is new, the tips are original, and they are also made of sterling silver.
The centerpiece of this exceptional bolo measures 2 1/2 inches tall by almost 2 inches wide, and the leather tie is 36 inches long, not including the tips, which are each a bit over 2 inches long. This is a special piece, hand-made with excellent skill and attention to detail, and it would make a gift that would be enjoyed for a lifetime by anyone who loves authentic Native American bolo ties.
