These well-made earrings were made using the Hopi overlay technique, which is one piece of silver with the sawed-out design soldered onto another, and then the open areas marked and oxidized to highlight the areas of the abstract design. They are not marked but have tested to be sterling silver, so I can't determine who made them or when, but my guess is that they are at least 20 to 30 years old if not more. They are in very good condition and show only normal use, and they are intact and functional.
Each of these clip back earrings is 1 1/4 inches long by 1 inch at its widest point and weighs about 8 1/2 grams, so they are comfortable to wear, yet large enough to make a definite statement. This is a pair that any lover of Native American silver would be happy to add to their jewelry wardrobe.
