Globular form peach-blow cased satin glass perfume bottle with silver color metal top.

The glass has a smooth, satiny feel and shows no signs of cracks, breaks or repairs, although there are some light surface scratches and a few blemishes that might be removed or improved with careful cleaning. There are some bubbles in the glass and a couple of granular specks embedded in the surface — things which occurred during manufacturing. The bottle has a nice weight for its size, about 9 and a half ounces — not too heavy and not too light. The overall dimensions of the bottle are approximately 3.5" diameter and 4" tall (to the top of the lid).

The top is slightly lopsided (possibly from having been dropped at some time). There are some small dents and surface wear to the silver metal, and the cork seal is still present.

The crowned lion appears to indicate that the piece is of English manufacture. The letters "T.W&S" probably identify the glass maker rather than any maker of silver plate.

Item ID: CSS020

The bottle may have been made by Thomas Webb and Sons, although we cannot be certain.
