A fantastic rare pair of Victorian Egyptian revival scarab earrings circa 1870. The metallic dark green beetle cases are mounted in a rich yellow metal that tests as containing gold but is thought to be gold plated. Of articulated design, each earring moves nicely when worn, the upper section having bead decoration in the archaeological style. From the top of the earwire they measure approximately 32mm (1 1/4") long and the width is approximately 14mm (9/16").
They are in lovely condition for their age and ready to wear.
