This lovely antique French Art Nouveau slide locket features a lady leaning over to smell an iris and is accented with an iris border on the front and then an iris border on the back. This is a very well know pattern made by E. Dropsy (signed on the front). The slide locket measures 2 1/4 inches (including the top ring) by just over 1 1/2 inches. The top is marked with the French mark for 800 silver (boar's head) and there is one other undecipherable maker's mark. The French company, Savard, frequently made these pieces and this may have been made by them or one of their competitors. This design was featured on many different types of jewelry (lockets, brooches and such). Condition is very good with light surface wear.
