19th Century Antique Sapphire Diamond Cluster Ring

Austro-Hungarian Empire, made between 1867 and 1872. The ring is finely crafted in solid 18K gold. It is centered with a sparkling blue sapphire surrounded by chunky old mine cut diamonds (G-H color, VS1-SI1 clarity). The sapphire measures 5.2 x 3.7 mm and is approximately 0.72 ct. Estimated total diamond weight is 2.76 carats. The ring is marked with a chamois head Austro-Hungarian assay mark (1867-1872) for the 3rd gold standard (750 gold / 18K) and maker’s mark.
