5th Century BC Ancient Greek Gold Finger Ring

Circa 5th century BC. This museum quality ancient Greek gold ring is roughly 2,500 years old. The matrix of the ring is engraved with a seated dog on a chain. Weight is 4.80 grams. The engraved matrix measures 21 x 10 mm. Comparable gold rings of this shape from the collection of the British museum are published in Greek Gold: Jewelry of the Classical World. Condition: a tiny crack on one of the shoulders of the ring. The ring is all original (no repairs or alterations) and wearable.
