Empress Maria Feodorovna Porcelain Easter Egg
Large Imperial presentation porcelain Easter egg, circa 1890, by the Imperial Porcelain Factory, St. Petersburg.
The egg is covered with dark red and lilac glaze known as sang de boeuf (ox blood) with a slip creating pale blue highlights,
decorated with a gilded cipher of Empress Maria Feodorovna (mother of Nicholas II).
The matte gold cipher 'MF' is partially polished and etched for extra texture.
Height 4 in. (10 cm). Excellent condition.
