Green crystal Egyptian beetle dress clip FINAL REDUCTION SALE paved rhinestones 1931 by Waller
Made of pot metal and marked Pat.1801128, BM. Not too many four prong clips, or better known today as dress clips, can be traced to the original maker. This one can, with the patent number being issued in 1931 to the Waller Co, but we couldn't find anything else on the firm and have no idea by it is stamped BM.
Many of these clips were made as single pieces to be worn at the neck or collar, which I believe is the case with this rare piece. This is in wonderful condition other than some yellowed old glue residue when one of the paved stones must have been replaced years ago. The clip measure 2 inches in length. Great collectors piece.
I saw one of these in one of our reference guides once, but can't locate it now. The closest we could get in the actual coloring is that shown on the book of the one bug pin we did find.
