Celluloid 1920 Buckle with Egyptian Revival Stamped Brass
Large brown celluloid discs with dimensional stamped brass belt buckle from the Art Deco period. The brass is raised Egyptian headdress figures that are not exactly the same, which is uncommon. They are attached to celluloid that both have their original back buttons which were sewn onto the ends of a fabric belt. The photo of the back makes them look different colors, but it was from the flash, both being a dark brown. They each measure 2.75 by 2-1/8 inches, making them fit for any flapper costume. Egyptian Revival pieces from the era are extremely scarce, so we were delighted to find this set in such great condition.
