Long Double Strand Cultured Pearl Necklace Sterling Clasp Frogs on Lily Pad
The longest strand of these pearls is 37" including the sterling clasp. Rather than rubbing against each other, the designer placed an extra bit of string on one length when hand knotting them, so they gently nestle each other. The pearls are slightly squatty rather than round and are 5 to 6mm (I'm not very good at measuring beads). The eye catching claps is hand-made and marked 925. It measures 1.5 inches across and is topped to a pair of frogs floating on a lily pad which sits into the hollow clasp. It is very difficult to determine what the frogs are made of, and I don't guarantee it, but with a loupe it appears to be bone that has been dyed to complete the design. This is the most delightful pearl necklace I have ever come across, and I'm sure the new owner will feel the same.
