Enameled Art Deco Black/Yellow Abstract Pin
Art Deco jewelry seems to be much harder to come by than Victorian, but when found it is usually delightful. This pin is no exception. Though only 1-1/8 inch across, it has a lot of pop with the black and yellow enameling. Inside the separate enamel piece is a tooth edged silver ring (held in place with two prongs on the back) that holds a black glass center. The glass piece has a facet back of all things. Why the extra work for just the back is another sign of how things were once made with fine workmanship. The pin back slightly protrudes out from under the pin which gives away the fact that it is a true antique pin. This pin needs a good cleaning. Also you will see in the last photo that there are four of the black sections that have tiny chips on them; the middle and the left on the bottom, and the middle and top on the left side. The rest are flash spots.
