Austrian sterling elf Santa or folk art character pin with turquoise. Judging from the folk-art tales of the region, this could also represent a figure from one of them. Its a little guy with pointed boots and nose, a long cap with long hair, and a bag over his shoulder. His coat, hat and boots have tiny turquoise cabochons that are too tiny to decipher whether they're glass or turquoise stone. It has lovely patina with a vermeil coating over most of the pin. Marked 835 with a tiny circular emblem that I'm not able to make out. It has a European tubular closure, and measures 1-1/16 of an inch. The pin is a little bent, but nothing major.
