Feather Hat Turquoise and Ribbon Band with Deco Flare
By the turn of the century hats were all over the place in size and style. One of the common denominators were feathers, which carried their popularity through the 1950s. This hat is obviously a hand made single creation. The feather pattern range in color from dark brown to a cinnamon, with longer dyed turquoise feather creates a pinwheel design. The band is a turquoise knit, topped with a metallic ribbon and a brown plastic jabot pin. The rim is wired and measures 23 inches. The feathers seem to be held down with glue in sections, so I'm not sure how this would wear, and would be more apt to recommend it go into a collection. It's a stunning hat which we purchased along with the red feather hat also listed. Both of them have me puzzled as to the era they are from.
Coty Paris compact with an uncanny similar pattern is sold separately.
