Costume American Indian Needlepoint Bead Bracelet
This lovely faux American Indian bracelet has a needlepoint face that measures 2-5/8 inches across the center. It displays well with turquoise and coral enamel, both on the center piece as well as side accents. The strands of silvertone beads are held apart with seven space bars, some of which have elaborate beads between them that takes the design element clear to the back of the bracelet.
American Indian items became so popular in the 1960s that everyone wanted to wear it. Back then the price was not something all could afford, so manufacturers found several ways to recreate the look at a fraction of the price. They were done well, and were not always evident they were costume. This is a perfect example, as the enamel and the silvertone metal look like the real thing. The elastic on this three strand bracelet allows for a loose fit on a small wrist, much like the vogue large face watches, and will stretch to fit up to a large wrist. The bracelet shows no signs of wear.
