Rare Highly Collectable.This magnificent Horse and Hound brooch is featured in "Faking It" drawing its inspiration from the Renaissance period. What is unique about this pin is the early K.J.L. cartouche on the back dating to the 1960's. Most important, it is the original version of the Horse and Hound pin with a faux pearl that dangles from the horse's belly.
The silver tone metal Horse and Hound bodies are textured and the pin measures 2-1/4" across x 2-1/2" top to bottom, it is also highly 3-dimensional with a 9mm profile, the swivel clasp opens and closes smoothly. The pin comes inside with a red felt pouch and K.J.L. box. Kenneth Jay Lane, who designed costume jewelry for royals, first ladies, celebrities, and socialites, passed away on Thursday in his sleep at his Manhattan apartment, his publicist confirmed. He was 85 years old. He passed on July 20th 2017 . He will be missed by so many.. Rest in Peace Kenneth Jay Lane.
