Sterling Vermeil Art Deco swirl design. The brooch is signed: "STERLING" on the back and has a gold overlay, or vermeil, finish. This large heavy sterling silver flower pin has the high quality design and craftsmanship of the pieces made by Adolph Katz for Coro and Alfred Philippe for Trifari. We found very similar patent designs by them but not this exact one. This is marked STERLING, with no maker's name.
The pin is a hefty one, made of solid sterling with a gold vermeil wash over the ribbon accents. Huge Emerald-Cut Unfoiled Aquamarine Rhinestone - accented with vermeil (gold over sterling)swirls and eleven clear CZ's. at .33 mm ea. Brooch is 3" tall and 2" wide with a huge center stone 1-1/8" take and 1" wide. Brooch is 1" deep giving it depth and integrity. Unsigned and I would attribute it to the work of Marcel Boucher. Marked 'Sterling'.
Excellent Vintage Condition.
The brooch measures approximately 3.0" x 2.0" and weighs 22.9 grams. This piece is quite substantial and very well made. It is also in great condition. It has some ware. We have not polished or cleaned the piece, yet it sparkles beautifully!
This is truly a statement piece of very nice quality.
