Beautiful porcelain lady half dolls sat atop pin cushions, clothes brushes, and vanity items in the Art Deco period of the 1920s and 30s. This pretty vintage lady is described as a "Dresser Doll" in Marion and Werner's Encyclopedia of Half Dolls published in 1979. Standing just 6 ¼” tall and measuring 5” at her widest part, this little beauty in her pink gown separates 1 ½” down from the waist to become a lidded trinket box or powder container. Stamped in gold on the underside of the skirt is "Madame Pompadour, E & R Germany". She is beautiful and in perfect condition with her curly brown hair, pink cheeks and rose bud lips.
