Here is a Daguerreotype of a beautiful young couple with hand tinted faces dating to 1850’s. He looks a little like Abe Lincoln and she is pretty with her long pipe curls. Although they look somewhat stern he is showing his affection towards her with his arm around her shoulder. They are in an oval glass frame with a brass surround. On the other side is an ornate velvet panel. It is quarter plate size and the leather ornate case which has a brass working latch to open and close measures 3.5” x 3 1/8”. There is one small hole in the velvet as shown and a small chip in the wooden frame also shown other than that the condition is very good commensurate with age.
