Pair of Circular Sterling Silver Compotes by International Silver Company. The pattern is "Prelude", Number T177-1; both of which are marked on the bottom. The International Silver Co was started in Meriden, Conn. in 1898, and has operated to present time. It was formed by the joining of several companies, one of which was the Rogers & Bro., Rogers Brothers which opened in 1847.
The smooth clean lines of this refined pattern are distinguished with deeply carved floral ornaments on the edge of the rim. Raised borders enhance the sophisticated simplicity and understated elegance of the timeless design, which was first introduced in 1939. A longtime favorite, it's perfectly at home on any style table setting, and adds cordial refinement to any meal.
This elegant compote is not weighted or filled. It stands 4" tall; the diameter of the dish is 6 ¼".
