This is a lovely cup and saucer marked with a black anchor and "Chelsea, England:" below it. This was one of the trade names used by the New Chelsea Porcelain Co., Ltd. They were in business until 1951. This cup has lovely gilding and orange flowers set on a fine white porcelain. The gilding is in excellent shape, very little wear is apparent. The handle of the cup is also gilded. The pattern is handwritten on the back of the saucer in red as "182A".
The saucer is almost 5 ¼" wide, the edges roll up to catch any overflow. The outside of the cup is ribbed; both the top and bottom edges are gilded. The cup height is 2", its width is 3 1/2:". It is just a lovely cup and saucer.
