This gorgeous vase is hand painted, decorated with a group of wise men reading a very long scrolled piece of paper. There are also two women on the side. There are many bamboo trees around them, some with gold leaves, others are green. There is a band of coral and gold decoration at both the top and bottom of the vase.
The lid fits perfectly on the top and the stand also is a perfect fit on the base. The shape of the vase is bomb-shaped and adds to the vases uniqueness. The height is about 8 3/4" for the vase and lid.
The mark is over glazed, and again I have been unsuccessful in identifying what it says. It consists of 11 symbols, and is in a brown or very dark red color. There is an additional mark that appears to be stamped over the last symbol, in a bright red coloring.
This certainly is a gorgeous vase, and I am confident in saying it is an antique, and a treasure from history.
Size: H = 8 ¾", Extreme Circumference = 14 ¾"
Condition: There is crackling, primarily on the back side, which is only visible up close. The crazing is in the glaze and is not detectable to the touch.
