This beaker is a exquisite Bohemian cased ruby red glass beaker, cut to clear with a hunting theme. The entire beaker is a continuous display of this wonderful artwork. It dates was made sometime in the 19th Century.
There is a hunter in the woods, with two dogs, standing by a bear that is lying on the ground. He has long hair, a feather coming from his hat, and it looks like he is holding a spear or long stick. There is a fence behind the hunter. There also is a fort, or castle in the background. There are two flags flying from the roof. There are two birds flying near the flags. The actual drinking vessel, which has 10 sides, is standing on a 10 sided thick base of solid ruby glass. The mouth rim is 1/2inch in length; the vessel is 3 1/4 inches and the base is 1 1/2 inches in length; adding up to a total length of 5 ¼ inches. The width of the diameter of the mouth is quite wide being 3 ¾ inches across.
It is very heavy, weighing between 2 and 2 ½ pounds; it has a footed shape, rayed bottom and is 10-sided.
The workmanship speaks for itself....amazing! This is certainly a collector's piece.
