I am pleased to present to you, for your consideration, a pair of museum quality wall plaques having both George and Martha Washington in relief. Both are completely silver plated bronze relief work; the medalist is unknown as they are not signed or dated. Both are mounted on a wooden board (approximate size 22" x 16") which is covered in a deep, rich maroon velvet cloth. George Washington`s image (extreme height = 15", extreme width = 9") is in Caesar style with the leaf band around his forehead; his long hair is also banded together. Martha Washington's image (extreme height = 15", extreme width = 9 ½") is wearing her bonnet, which is commonly portrayed in her replications, along with an intricately decorated scarf around her neck. Each weight approximately 11 pounds.
Not only are these extremely rare treasures from history, but having a matching pair of both George and Martha Washington is quite a rarity.
