A stunning sterling necklace encrusted with swirls of ribbon silver, turquoise, coral and amethyst stones. The design is very baroque in the same style as Matl. The large central panel has 6 decorated pendants hanging from it. The chain radiating from the central panel is decorated in the same motif and turquoise stones. It is a very fanciful piece of jewelry and looks very antique. What is unique is the gems are surrounded in flower like
settings. It must have taken this silversmith many hours to make. It really makes a statement when you wear it. The dimensions are: 10-3/4" long, the central medallion is 3-1/.4" wide and 3-3/8" long counting the pendants. The marks on the clasp say: Hecho en Mexico, 925, TS-79. That means this piece was made in Taxco by someone with an initial S and he was the 79th person for those initials.
The condition is mint. It has not been polished and the stones are all there.
