Cup Plate, Historical Glass, Ft. Meigs, Wm. H. HarrisonCup Plate, Historical Glass, Ft. Meigs, Wm. H. HarrisonCup Plate, Historical Glass, Ft. Meigs, Wm. H. Harrison

This cup plate commemorates the Battle of Tippecanoe. The plate shows a log cabin with the words Fort Meigs above and the rim has vines and leaves and says Tippecanoe at the top and at the bottom Wm. H Harrison. It dates to around 1840. The scallops around the edge have some roughness, which is normal for early glass. It measures 3-5/16".

It was probably made in the Midwest since there is a latchstring on the door. It came from a collection I purchased some time ago. The paste from a label has not been cleaned off and shows up in the photos.
