This is an outstanding and striking early Los Ballesteros sterling and amethyst cabochon pendant or pin. The amethyst cabochon is tear shaped and a lovely deep purple. It is surrounded by grooved sterling. The back is impressed with the fancy B with pale initials (hard to read) S Ball (?) above and TaxcoGro below. It also states Hecho en Mexico and Sterling 925. It has no other marks, so it predates the eagle mark. The condition is wonderful. It measures: 1-13/16" long and 1-3/8" wide. It has a bail on the back for a chain or a C clasp for a pin.
