An unusual and lovely dark blue Staffordshire sugar with lid. The central part of the sugar has a long billed bird sitting among flowers and fauna on one side. The other side has another long billed bird sitting in another position among more flowers and fauna. There is an impressed V on the bottom and a small blue K. The top has a nice flower finial and there are sea shells around the top. I do not think the top matches the bottom in design but only in the blue. It fits, however. This early Staffordshire is very pleasing to the eye and looks lovely in a cupboard or on a table. The dimensions are: approximately 6-1/2" high with top on and 5" without top, 7" wide and 4-1/2" across the top. I cannot find the pattern listed, so am assuming it is an unusual pattern. These beautiful dark blue sugars w/o the lid make great small vases for flowers.
Condition: very good for its age but one handle has a chip underneath and the other handle has a very poor repair, hence the low price. There are no other chips or cracks.
