This fascinating 10" high vase is a product of The Haeger Potteries of Dundee, Ill., operating since 1871. The company was originally begun as Dundee Brickyard, transitioned from bricks to artisan flower pots around 1900, and introduced sophisticated glazed artware in 1912. This brown vase is typical of the interesting pieces produced from 1965-1975. The open 1 3/4" slightly flared top sits above a tall slim section over a 4 1/2" wide rounded pot. The round pot area has two sections of reptilian (how did they do that?) areas, one resembling a fish and one a snake or eel. Place this where your guests can view and debate what the scaly areas represent. The round base is 3" across; the bottom has felt with the "Royal Haeger USA" logo. I have a number of interesting pottery and stoneware items listed here, and will combine orders for discount and shipping savings to enable you to have a conversation-starting decor. Please email me with any questions you may have, and thank-you for shopping here at Something Wonderful.
