This vintage "Roma" pattern on all 4 sides of this Weller Pottery square planter was inspired by Italian pottery and developed by Rudolph Lorber about 1914. The pattern became one of Weller's most loved and was placed on pottery of hundreds of different shapes. This square planter is 4" in every direction and has natural crazing. The Weller pottery company was founded in Fultonham, Ohio in 1872, beginning with one small cabin and one kiln. In 1882 it was moved to Zanesville, Ohio, and in the mid 1920's the logo seen on the bottom of this planter was developed. Place an herb in this planter and enjoy the romance of an Italian inspiration and an American potter. I have other vintage pottery listed here, and will combine orders for discount and shipping savings.
