These salt containers (also called salt cellars, salt dips) are each 1 3/4" across, 1" high, with a 6 sided cut design. When turned over, they resemble a flower, but you wouldn't want to create bad luck by spilling the salt! These were used to provide salt for each person at a dinner table, until anti-caking agents made salt flow easily and salt shakers became popular in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Because of the high numbers of designs and affordability these have been collectible since the 1930's. Add a bit of history to your next dinner by using these for your guests. I have others listed here and will combine orders for shipping savings. Please email me with any questions you may have, and thank-you for shopping here at Something Wonderful.
