Pierre Joseph Redoute, born in 1759, put together this collection of masterpieces in 1833, bringing together art and nature in close harmony. This hardback book, 10 1/2" x 13 3/4", has 144 Engraved Color Plates in Facsimile, each page so beautiful it takes away your breath. Redoute is to flowers what Audubon was to birds--the detail and accuracy is exquisite. The back of each page is blank, making them perfect for framing, should someone want to undertake such a task. In the book, which is in excellent condition, they remain the height of nature revealed in art. This was c1981, from the Wellfleet Press. I will combine orders for discount and shipping savings.
