These 5 volumes are part of a larger set of 7 or 9 volumes bu Rudyard Kipling, the English short story writer, poet and novelist remembered for his stories of soldiers in India and jungle tales. The books are: Soldiers Three (Story of the Gadsbys in Black and White), Departmental Ditties and Barrack-Room Ballads, Life's Handicap (Stories of Mine Own People), Under the Deodars (The Phantom Rickshaw Wee Willie Winkie) and Plain Tales from the Hills. These were published in 1913 by Doubleday, Page & Co, and have the insignia that Kipling used which was later removed because of the resemblance to a swastika. These are in good condition; in Plain Tales, there is a little separation between pp 100-101; there is a bit of discoloration inside the covers of the books, but considering they have been enjoyed for over 100 years, they look ready for another 100 years of exciting and entertaining story-telling. Add these to your oldies but goodies in the library. Please email me with any questions you may have, and thank-you for shopping here at Something Wonderful.
