Classic Miriam Haskell single strand necklace of high lustre white milk glass beads strung on silk. The round beads are of uniform size and measure 8mm and alternate with small white rondelle spacer beads. The secure flower closure is embellished with one round capped bead encircled by tiny rondelle beads. The back of the clasp is signed Miriam Haskell in an oval cartouche. In very fine ready to wear condition, no signs of verdigris to the clasp, no chips nicks or wear to the beads, the back of the clasp is very lightly tarnished. Measures 24 inches length. Circa 1960.
Miriam Haskell was an American designer of costume jewelry. With creative partner Frank Hess, she designed affordable pieces from 1920 through the 1960s. Her vintage items are eagerly collected and her namesake company continues.
