Here is a figural dog nutcracker that is also mechanical. The nut is placed in the dog's mouth and you crack it by pushing the tale up and down. It is a heavy iron piece with nickel plate giving it a silvery exterior. The Althoff Manufacturing Company, Chicago is in raised letters on the bottom. It was made in the early 1900's. The dog appears to be a St Bernard breed. It stands 6" tall and is approx 10 1/2" long. The finish is all intact on the dog. The stand that he is on has some wear and tarnish on the bottom. There are no digs or dents.
