From the mid-1800s comes this rarely found French mahogany miniature (in real life) ladies watch stand in the shape of a dressing table. It measures 7" tall, 4 5/8" wide, and 3 3/4" deep. Of mahogany-finished wood, the dressing table rests upon four short chubby feet. The entire stand is so decorative with its elaborate carved bone ornamentation and turned wood details. Very well made and very pretty! There is one drawer that is handy for small items, perhaps a pair of earrings taken off at the end of day.
The hinged brackets support a velvet-lined frame and this frame was originally designed to display a lady's pocket watch when not in use. There is a tiny pin or hook missing at the top from which a watch would hang (should be easy to remedy). Here we are showing how it might look with Mademoiselle's watch, but the watch is not a part of this listing. Alternately it might be possible to place a small mirror in the frame. However it is used, it is a charming piece from France that is just the right size for display in a cabinet room setting with French Fashion dolls.
Overall condition is very good.
