Dresser box is composed of a custard pink colored glass blank finished in the Helmschmied Swirl pattern, named for C. F. Monroe decorator Carl V. Helmschmied.
Hand painted in a delicate floral pattern and features light brown paint accented with raised enamel paint.
The box has brass trim and the interior retains its original silk lining which has some wear.
The C. F. Monroe Company was founded in the late 19th century by Charles Fabyan Monroe in Meriden, Connecticut. The company was well known for its finely decorated opaque glass dresser boxes which were beautifully painted in delicate floral patterns. Wave Crest closed its doors in 1916.
This box is in good condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The hinged lid is fully functional and closes securely on the base.
